Elliot Holden the Urban Guitar Legend uses complex, colorful harmonies in the vein of Eric Johnson and Jimi Hendrix over a grooving hip-hop beat to put a new spin on a classic song by Sting and the Police in this guitar-driven instrumental fusion cover.
This smooth Beatlesque track flexes Holden’s vocals skills as he proves his adeptness at writing catchy lyrical melody is just as mature as his fiery guitar work.
Elliot draws on his Augusta, GA roots as he pays homage to “the Godfather of Soul” Mr. James Brown while simultaneously pulling in influences from Jeff Beck and Hendrix for a funk laden instrumental that grooves from beginning to end.
